Munich, Nationalmuseum

This museum is somewhat different from most other monumental buildings in Europe. It is set back from the street and separated from it by a balustrade. The entrance is identified by a break in the balustrade.

The roof is of slate, the most expensive and most durable roofing material. Again, the roof line is interrupted and highlighted by crowning ornaments.
