Caen, La Place Alexandre III

This is urban space that looks initially quite inviting - the buildings are excellent, and things seem to be well maintained. However, there is simply too much space for it to really work. The lawns are the culprit - in cities, grass should be reserved for the parks and the interiors of blocks - it does not really belong on the street. (Boulevards often have large grassy strips.)

The street beyond is excellent from what we can see - the width is reasonable, and the heights of the buildings correct.
