Rouen, L'Aitre de Saint Maclou

Here we have another very old building, most of which dates to 1527 and some earlier. It was apparently once part of a cemetery but is now used as a school of fine arts.

Notice that the building is built to a very small scale despite being a reasonably large building. The ceilings are low on the upper story and only moderately high on the lower. The small panes in the windows contribute further to the sense of small scale.
