Florence, Ponte Santa Trinita

The Ponte Vecchio can also be seen in this view, beyond the Ponte Santa Trinita. We are looking along the river in the opposite direction.

This must be one of the world's most beautiful bridges. Its simple, elegant form would be difficult to improve upon. Notice that the entire bridge is an arch, in addition to the elliptical arches that support each span.

Such is variety. Each of these two bridges has much to recommend it, although they are very different.
